Grow your art business through collaborations

"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much."

This quote from Helen Keller, the charismatic blind and deaf speaker that changed the world, perfectly expresses why collaboration is such a fantastic idea. As artists alone we often struggle, but by building partnerships with other artists, we can do great things.

Read on to learn 3 simple ways to collaborate with other artists that can help your business grow.

1. Go Live!

Do an Instagram live together. Wouldn’t you love to double the audience for your Instagram video instantly? You can do that by collaborating with an artist who has a similar size following. Team up with another artist in a similar niche but not directly competitive, of course.

Join together to talk about your artwork and your creative processes. By interacting with another person you can create a more interesting video that will help capture and hold your audience’s attention.

Of course, the big benefit is that you can reach and educate both your audience and your collaborative artist’s audience in the same video. By working with an artist with a similar size following, you’re essentially doubling your potential viewership through a simple artists’ collaboration.

Of course, it goes both ways. In the video, you will highlight both artists, allowing each to mutually benefit from the partnership.

2. Set up a Giveaway

People love giveaways on Instagram. It’s one of the best ways to get people to start tagging each other and spread awareness about your artist business.

Join together with another artist to set up a giveaway. The best ideas include something from each of your businesses. This will ensure that your giveaway appeals to an audience who is interested in both artists’ products.

Again, you’ll be doubling your exposure by collaborating with another artist. Plus, the right giveaway can quickly explode if people are interested.

3. Collaborate on a Product

This last one is the most hands-on and the most fun. How would you like to expand your artistic offerings? Collaborate with other artists in business on a new type of product.

For example, let’s say you have an art photography business. People love your landscape prints and buy them to adorn their walls. What if they could buy them to adorn their bodies as well?

Here at Foterra, we offer a unique opportunity to artists looking to sell their photographs. We create gorgeous, handmade jewelry pieces from photographs taken by talented artists of some of the most stunning vistas on the planet.

Looking for a Unique Collaboration?

We’re actively looking for talented photographers whose images would make stunning pieces to add to our collection. For every sale of your artwork, you will earn a commission.

Plus, you can sell our jewelry on your own site to directly offer your audience something new and unique. Don’t worry, you don’t have to carry an inventory or mess with shipping. We handmake every order and ship it directly to the client.
