3 ways to get the most out of the Made in Hawaii Festival

This week I am excited… do you know why? We are heading to the Made in Hawaii Festival!

Starting on Friday, Lane Tanner Designs (aka, Morgan and Josh) will be setting up shop at the Neal Blaisdell Center for the best shopping event of the year! Ok I’m a little biased, but this is a pretty fun event. It also features some of the best artists, crafters and food makers these islands have to offer.

I can hear you now “but Morgan, it’s crowded and parking is annoying. I don’t know if it’s worth it…” Well hold your horses! Before you decide let me give you some secret advice from a Made in Hawaii expert. I should know! This will be our 4th year at the festival… and I know all the secrets.

Here are three secrets to getting the most out of the Made in Hawaii Festival.

Secret 1.). Wear comfortable shoes. There are so many things to see at the festival. If you want to get the most out of it you will be walking and standing for a looooong time. Forget fashion today, just be comfortable. Trust me.

Secret 2.) Make sure to visit the arena. There are two reasons to make the trip next door to the Blaisdell arena 1.) This is where you will find some pretty yummy food samples and 2.) a lot of the new artists and crafters are placed in the arena their first year. You will definitely make some new discoveries. When your coworkers are ogling over your brand new super stylish handbag, you can revel in the satisfaction that you discovered it first at the Made in Hawaii arena.

Secret 3.) Come during the dinner hour. Yes, it is not the most convenient time to visit the festival, but it is by far the least crowded. If you want to enjoy everything at a leisurely pace come around 6pm on Friday or Saturday.

Ok, now that you’ve been given the best advice from a Made in Hawaii expert go forth, explore, enjoy and shop! Be sure to stop by booth #284 to say aloha.
